The Annual Colonial Beach Easter Egg Hunt occurs the Saturday before Easter and is our kick off for Spring! The children bring their own empty baskets and enthusiastically search for the prized eggs filled with yummy surprises.  Located on Town Hill (corners of Colonial and Washington Avenues) with the gazebo decorated in beautiful pastel colors.  Bring the entire family for a fun and “eggciting” hunt while enjoying the sights and scents of Spring blooming on the Potomac River.

Annual Osprey Festival
Enjoy nature, exhibits, art, food, music, children’s activities, and of course the majestic ospreys who arrive in March each year!

If a veteran birdwatcher, on-site ornithologists and species experts will deepen your knowledge. Novices, those who might like to learn more about bird-watching, or anyone who supports and enjoys the birds in their own backyard can walk away from this festival with a solid foundation of bird lore and ways to both enjoy and learn more about our feathered friends in the future. The festival is also a great opportunity to introduce children (and grandchildren) to this fun and wholesome family activity. Everyone is sure to have a good time in Colonial Beach!

72nd Annual Potomac River Festival 
A time-honored Colonial Beach tradition, the Annual Potomac River Festival includes a Grand Feature Parade, a Pet Parade, a Boat Parade, Music, Food and Craft Vendors, and MORE! Sponsored by the Colonial Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Occurring the 2nd weekend in June and a fantastic time-honored Colonial Beach tradition! The Annual Potomac River Festival kicks off at 7:30pm Friday evening with a loud and proud Firemen’s Parade around the point. The festival features a Grand Parade, Pet Parade, Boat Parade, Beauty Pageant, music, food and craft vendors, and fireworks.  It is one of our largest events of the year and a fantastically fun filled weekend for the entire family!  You won’t want to miss this perfect opportunity to experience The Playground on the Potomac. This amazing event takes place on Town Hill (corner of Colonial and Washington Avenues).

Father's Day Classic Car Show

Hosted by Colonial Rod ClubA great way to treat Dad to a fun filled Father’s Day! The Town Hill (corner of Colonial and Washington Avenues) is packed with a multitude of one-of-a-kind cars and trucks. Antique, vintage and customized vehicles are all on display awaiting the difficult decision of the judges. Prizes and trophies are awarded to the top three Rat Rods, top 30, and Chamber’s Choice.  Bands play in the background while you stroll around taking in the gleaming sights. Grab a tasty bite to eat from the food vendors and do a little shopping for Dad at the craft vendor stands.

Colonial Beach Artist Guild Judged Art Show

Our vibrant Art Community is abuzz every year for this exciting show. The event is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays for the month of the show. It is held each year at the Colonial Beach Town Hall (corner of Washington Avenue and Hawthorn Street). The building is magically transformed from a meeting hall to an Art Gallery where art of all kinds is displayed in the judged show.  Fine art, 2D, pottery, jewelry, fabric art and photography are among some of the featured entrants. This event is a must see for art lovers of all ages!

Come join us for this 2-day car show held the third weekend in August. With music in the background and your choice of food and merchandise vendors, you can spend the day admiring all these beauties. The Town Hill (corner of Colonial and Washington Avenues) will be packed full all the hard-to-believe creations at this long-standing event. If you are a “gearhead”, this is the place to be!

9th Annual Colonial Beach Bike Fest

Located on Town Hill (corner of Colonial and Washington Avenues) and the Boardwalk, this four-day, blow-out motorcycle enthusiast event is filled with a variety of bike inspired vendors, rockin’ bands, bike show, bike run, bike contest, and more. The streets of downtown Colonial Beach are lined with bikes of every make and model and black leather is the popular fashion statement. Rockin’ music and lip-smackin’ good food is on “The Hill” as well as our biker friendly businesses and non-profit organizations. This is the perfect opportunity to have an absolute blast while making new friends with the same interests and hanging out with the old ones.  Be sure to get your concert tickets and make your reservations early because our accommodations and restaurants fill up quickly.

5th Annual Colonial Beach Plaza Bed & Breakfast Oyster Shuck - 10/15 2pm-?
Overnight reservations required.
The Oyster Shuck at the Colonial Beach Plaza Bed and Breakfast is an annual event to celebrate the tasty oysters from local Maryland and Virginia waterways.  The event features dozens of craft beers and local wines, unique appetizers, and unlimited raw and steamed oysters, all shucked during the event by a local waterman.  In addition to the Oyster Shuck, guests experience a full weekend at the Plaza B&B which includes a full fresh breakfast every morning with protein, vegetables, and fruits from local farms, with a side of mimosas.

9th Annual Fall Festival and Halloween Golf Cart Parade - 10/22 11am-4pm

This fun-filled, family event takes place on Town Hill (corner of Colonial and Washington Avenues). It features food and craft vendors, inflatable slides and bounce houses, arts and crafts, games, a fire pit, music, costume contests and more. The day is capped off with a very, very frightening decorated golf-cart parade! Watch the festive carts drive “the Point” the Saturday before Halloween.

Annual Fall Rockfish Tournament
This annual event is a classic Colonial Beach. It all begins Friday night with Captains’ dinner where tournament rules are reviewed. Saturday and Sunday are for ROCK FISHING!  Cash prizes are awarded with a $5,000.00 first place prize. Youth Division (?) Ladies Division (?) and Special Angler Division are awarded trophies. Come test your fishing skills…win money…and take dinner home on this second week in November. The tournament is located at the Colonial Beach Yacht Center (1787 Castlewood Drive).

Lighted Holiday Boat Parade
Grab a spot on the beach, a bench on the boardwalk, sit in your golf cart or car to watch as our fabulous Colonial Beach boating community shares their holiday spirit with all of us! Boats of all shapes and sizes decked out for the holiday season, blowing their horns sail up and down the Potomac River from Monroe Bay to Riverboat and return.

Santa's Wonderland & Winter Festival Parade, 12/2 11am-3pm
Start the holiday season with us the first Saturday of December on Town Hill (corner of Colonial and Washington Avenues).  Town Hill is decorated with thousands of twinkling lights, Christmas trees, elves, snowmen and everything Christmas!  Santa arrives to lead the parade and is followed by decorated cars, golf carts, floats, and more. You and the kids will have a holly, jolly good time decorating cookies, making holiday arts and crafts, sitting by the fire pit, listening to Christmas music, shopping and eating at vendors, writing letters to Santa and more!  You can even have your picture taken with Santa!  Everyone…kids and kids at heart… delight in this festive beginning of the holiday season

Annual Colonial Beach Plaza Bed & Breakfast Oyster Shuck - 10/16 2pm-?
Overnight reservations required.
The Oyster Shuck at the Colonial Beach Plaza Bed and Breakfast is an annual event to celebrate the tasty oysters from local Maryland and Virginia waterways.  The event features dozens of craft beers and local wines, unique appetizers, and unlimited raw and steamed oysters, all shucked during the event by a local waterman.  In addition to the Oyster Shuck, guests experience a full weekend at the Plaza B&B which includes a full fresh breakfast every morning with protein, vegetables, and fruits from local farms, with a side of mimosas.

Annual Fall Festival and Halloween Golf Cart Parade - 10/12 11am-4pm
This fun-filled, family event takes place on Town Hill (Corner of Colonial and Washington Avenues). It features food and craft vendors, family fun zone, a fire pit, music, and more. The day is capped off with a spectacular Halloween inspired decorated golf cart parade!  Be sure to watch the carts drive “the Point” the Saturday before Halloween.

Annual Fall Rockfish Tournament
This annual event is a classic Colonial Beach. It all begins Friday night with Captains’ dinner where tournament rules are reviewed. Saturday and Sunday are for ROCK FISHING!  Cash prizes are awarded with a $5,000.00 first place prize. Youth Division (?) Ladies Division (?) and Special Angler Division are awarded trophies. Come test your fishing skills…win money…and take dinner home on this second week in November. The tournament is located at the Colonial Beach Yacht Center (1787 Castlewood Drive).

Lighted Holiday Boat Parade
Grab a spot on the beach, a bench on the boardwalk, sit in your golf cart or car to watch as our fabulous Colonial Beach boating community shares their holiday spirit with all of us! Boats of all shapes and sizes decked out for the holiday season, blowing their horns sail up and down the Potomac River from Monroe Bay to Riverboat and return.

Santa's Wonderland & Winter Festival Parade, 12/3 11am-3pm
Start the holiday season with us the first Saturday of December on Town Hill (corner of Colonial and Washington Avenues).  Town Hill is decorated with thousands of twinkling lights, Christmas trees, elves, snowmen and everything Christmas!  Santa arrives to lead the parade and is followed by decorated cars, golf carts, floats, and more. You and the kids will have a holly, jolly good time decorating cookies, making holiday arts and crafts, sitting by the fire pit, listening to Christmas music, shopping and eating at vendors, writing letters to Santa and more!  You can even have your picture taken with Santa!  Everyone…kids and kids at heart… delight in this festive beginning of the holiday season
