"This charming, Victorian Bed and Breakfast is definitely one of my favorites and reminds me of a dollhouse or as if you've travelled back in time.  My husband and I have been lucky enough to stay here in September and November.  Not only is the house lovely, its hosts, Misunn and David are some of the nicest, most gracious people I've ever met!  From the moment we arrived, Misunn spoiled us with her tasty homemade dumplings and glasses of wine.  We also had a fancy breakfast in the morning along with glasses of champagne (for my birthday).  There were fresh flowers in the room and each room was spotless and beautifully decorated.  We stayed in the stunning, Mason Locke Weems Room (September) and the feminine, Lulabelle Suite with its gorgeous canopy bed (November).

Colonial Beach is such a fun place to visit and what makes it even more special is staying at this adorable B&B.  In the summer, the Plaza has a pool and outside Cabana where you can lounge, swim, or play corn hole.  It's also so much fun to rent a golf cart and cruise up and down the beach (strongly recommend).  You'll make some friends that way and will receive friendly waves.  In the fall and winter, the Plaza is a nice getaway to relax and unwind and visit local wineries and breweries (you can also visit them in the summer).  :-)  

Best of all, Colonial Beach is a wonderful place to escape the traffic, hustle and bustle, and worries.  There's something about the water that melts away the stress.  Not to mention, the people in the town are SO kind and friendly.

"Oh my goodness...where to begin?!?!  From the second we arrived, Misunn welcomed us with hugs, happy birthday wishes for my husband, wine and her amazing homemade Korean dumplings.  The main house is beautiful and every room is like a museum or an antique store.  We stayed in Lulabelle, and it was so romantic and cozy...the bed is like something out of a fairy tale.  They gave us an amazing recommendation for dinner that was easily the best meal we've eaten since moving to VA almost 5 years ago.  Then...as if they hadn't done enough already...Misunn made a phenomenal omelette breakfast and continued the birthday celebration with mimosas.  We can't decide if we felt more like family or royalty, but regardless, there is no doubt we will return to The Plaza, probably very, very soon.  Thank you, Misunn and Dave, for such an amazing stay.  We fell in love with Colonial Beach because of you!"

"David and Misunn's place is perfect for a small family. I stayed with my family of 4. We had a great time! We were served yummy homemade Korean dimplings and given welcome drinks. There were even waters and sodas in the fridge and snack for my kiddos! The house was very clean and had everything we needed. They had plenty of channels and the tv was easy to work. The beach was very close, 1/2 a block maybe and we literally had it to ourselves. There were tons of shells and rocks and only gentle waves. My son and I got in and it wasn't too cold in mid October. We walked to a restaurant easily with a one year old and 3 year old. It was a good stay. If you are traveling with small children, it's child/ baby friendly but I brought a baby gate so my boys could only play on the spiral staircase when I was watching (spotting them)."
